  1. Tell us the operating system so we don't reply with generic gibberish;
  2. Make sure ALL of the system is indeed started. Unfortunately specific detail depends on your answer to 1);
  3. Tell us exactly what you needed to type, and in what tool (eg: browser), to get to the main 'menu'. 'We' are not familiar with the term 'main menu' directly related to XE. On the other hand, I've seen dozens of 'main menus' in Oracle so narrowing it a bit would be appreciated ... ;
  4. Consider registering with the XE forum and asking there. We handle these questions on a regular basis.
