DB: 10.1.0.4.0 - previously upgrade from 8i.
1)
Due to space constraint, we are still not in OATM, so can't use SHRINK in 10g.
We are performing ALTER TABLE MOVE, REBUILD INDEX on few objects from BOM, GL, WIP, WSM every month with the purpose of improving performance by resetting the HWM.
However, understand from some forum that if the table need to be reused, there is meaningless to do the above operation - can someone pls advise on this?
2)
As budget constraint, we are not able to get 3rd party solution for the archive & purge for the time being.. but we need to perform this operation urgently due to data growth. Eventhough with the solution, after the archive & purge, we still need to reclaim the size if I'm not wrong.
Question:
Is it possible to perform the archive & purge without 3rd party solution?
How should I start with?
