Hi All,
A question about the WMSYS user that comes with the default installation :

I've locked it because it has the DBA role. The question is :
Will this impact the database ? Will something go wrong ?

Thank you in advance,

Amine

Ready, Fire, AIM!

When all else fails, Read The Fine Manual

I know that Mr BlackSwan,
But nothing is said about the repercussions by locking this user, even if we don't need the Workspace Manager

And you rely on an answer from a forum?
OK, we lock this account, what will you do with that?

Hi,

Are you using oracle workspace manager?
WMSYS used to store all the metadata information for Oracle Workspace Manager.

WMSYS is created if Oracle Workspace Manager script owmctab.plb is executed.

Thanks-
P

Hi Amine

WMSYS user is basically Used to store all the metadata information for Oracle Workspace Manager. This user is locked by default.
The user account is locked because oracle want the password to be public but restrict access to the account to the SYS schema.

So there is nothing that is going to effect the database.

Deepak
