Hi,

I got this error after i patch to 10.2.0.4.0. Before patch, database running smooth.

I shutdown as usual using shutdown only. I don't know what wrong.

Please assist me.

I use startup upgrade and i can start database. I use shutdown and start again with startup i got same error.

Is it i need to use startup upgrade after this?

Solution:
SQL> startup
ORACLE instance started.

Total System Global Area 123456789 bytes
Fixed Size 123456 bytes
Variable Size 9283748 bytes
Database Buffers 88888888 bytes
Redo Buffers 777777 bytes
Database mounted.
ORA-01092: ORACLE instance terminated. Disconnection forced.

Solution:

1. Run startup upgrade:

SQL> startup upgrade
ORACLE instance started.
...
...
Database mounted.
Database opened.

2. Run a script (ORACLE_HOME)/rdbms/admin/catupgrd.sql

After a few hours, i got same error again. I don't know what is wrong.

SQL> startup
ORACLE instance started.

Total System Global Area 1073741824 bytes
Fixed Size                  1271616 bytes
Variable Size             448792768 bytes
Database Buffers          620756992 bytes
Redo Buffers                2920448 bytes
Database mounted.
ORA-01092: ORACLE instance terminated. Disconnection forced

Please assist me.
