Hello

when we are executing a select query we are geeting a below error in oracle 10.1.0.3
ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [kpofdr-long], [], [], [], [], [], [], []

while the same query is working fine in other machines with the same application. This query has working fine before on the same machine well.
No long column is being used in the query as i found in a oracle forum that avoid long column if any. I have searched in metalink and it says its a bug fixed in 10.1.0.5 . But our application doesnot support 10.1.0.5. Can anybody help?

i hve read the guidline before positing the query and it seems i am quite understandable. Razz .

Please provide any alternate soln rather than upgradation.

thanks and regards
ankush

If you had searched in Metalink, found the reason and the correction and there is no workaround for your current versiob then there is no workaround and no other direct solution.
Now if you know the reason you may be able to change the application is order to not encounter the bug.

You have no other solution than these 2:
- upgrade
- change the environment to not fit the bug root

Michel
