ORA-01045: user SYSTEM lacks CREATE SESSION privilege; logon denied [message #324765]

hi

Iam facing ann error ORA-01045

$ ./sqlplus start

SQL*Plus: Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production on Wed Jun 4 10:09:59 2008

Copyright (c) 1982, 2005, Oracle. All rights reserved.

Enter password:
ERROR:
ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied

Enter user-name: system
Enter password:
ERROR:
ORA-01045: user SYSTEM lacks CREATE SESSION privilege; logon denied

And I know we have to grant CREATE SESSION privilages to user. but what are the steps to do that ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Please do needful to avoid this.

Please provide details how you found yourself in this position.

Use dbca to create new database & do not break it (again).

How can i login as sysdba...what is the command?

I suggest you stay far away from Oracle & stick with ACCESS.
