Hello Experts,
Can someone please explain to me what it mean to work in a batch environment?
I'll be interview sometime very soon and I would like to have some knowledge of working in a batch environment.

A batch environment is on where you generally have a fewer sessions, each running very long queries or updates/inserts.
A good example to think of is a bank - during the day, they run as an OLTP system, processing lots of transfers of money.
Over night, they run big batch scripts that calculate verious totals for all the individual accounts, and reconcile all the processes that happened during the day.
